Das Leuchtmittel und die Halterung werden von unabhängigen Herstellern produziert und getestet. Durch die bereits vormontierte Lampe, kann diese dann bei Bedarf sehr schnell und einfach gewechselt werden. Diese Ersatzlampen sind vergleichsweise günstig, aber in Helligkeit, Farbtreue und Lebensdauer weitestgehend mit den Erstausrüster-Leuchtmitteln vergleichbar.
